Abstract
The article presents the results of scientific and practical work of the Department for Surgical Treatment of Heart
Diseases with Progressive Pulmonary Hypertension of the Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for
Cardiovascular Surgery for the year 2018. Provides insights and practical recommendations on the diagnosis, surgical,
interventional and medical treatment of various nosological forms of pulmonary hypertension.
In particular, pulmonary endarterectomy and balloon dilatation of the pulmonary arteries, combined with specific
pulmonary vasodilators therapy, have been shown to be effective treatments for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary
hypertension. In this case, the phasing of surgical, endovascular and drug methods for each patient can be individualized.
Also examined results palliative surgical treatment of pulmonary hypertension – pulmonary artery banding, atrial
septostomy, Potts anastomosis, stenting of left coronary artery and embolization of aorto-pulmonary collateral artery.
