Abstract
This article presents the results of the medical and scientific activities of the Department of Surgery in Young Children
with Congenital Heart Diseases of the Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery,
Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for 2018 year (the head of the department is professor M.M. Zelenikin).
515 patients hospitalized in 2018. 421 operations performed and 236 (56.1%) of them in cardiopulmonary bypass.
Hospital mortality was 1.0%. The scientific work was carried out with two topics – «Surgical and parasurgical risk
factors of congenital heart disease correction in young children» and «Indications and risk factors for hemodynamic
correction of congenital heart defects in young children». The results of scientific work in 2018: 17 articles, 14 reports
and 10 lectures in various scientific forums, 2 patent for invention.
