Abstract
The article consists of analyzed and summarized results of 10 years history of innovative scientific and educational project «Student Symposium “Operations in Cardiac Surgery: History Lessons”» of cardiovascular surgery (CVS) student scientific club at Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery. It is shown that in the period from 2013 to 2023 more than 210 Moscow medical students and residents of Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery took part in this scientific and educational project. They carried out more than 190 scientific researches about cardiology and CVS, presented their results on more than 10 symposiums, held during 2014–2023, and published the abstracts of more than 200 reports in the journal «The Bulletin of Bakoulev Center. Cardiovascular Diseases». The feature of those symposiums was study of history of operations in terms of HistLab and its modeling in terms of WetLab, or DryLab. Some students have continued their investigations with publishing 24 scientific articles in leading Russian scientific practical journals. The majority of symposiums participants, entering the residency chose cardiology, cardiovascular surgery or related specialties, i.e. anesthesiology, as their profession. Part of those students continued their postgrade studies, five got PhD academic degree. Taking these all into consideration, innovative project that started ten years ago as a pilot, «Student Symposium “Operations in Cardiac Surgery: History Lessons”», has justified its scientific and educational purpose. Hope that it will be continued in the future and will contribute to the training of future cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. In Part 2 of the article the topics and results of the VI–X symposiums are considered (2019–2023).
