Abstract
The results of 234 pulmonary biopsies obtained from patients with atrial septal defect and high pulmonary hypertension, aged from 3 months to 39 years, were presented. According to comparison of hemodynamic, morphologic and morphometric data the indications to pulmonary biopsy and choice of palliative or radical surgical treatment were worked out. Morphometry of intraacinar vessels in pulmonary biopsy in young patients (up to 3 years old) with borderline changes (grade III - IV by Heath-Edwards classification) allows to detect patients who are perspective for radical correction.
