Abstract
Successful treatment of congenital heart defects is largely dependent on the accuracy of diagnosis and visualization of the heart
and vessels. Three-dimensional modeling give doctors more accurate image of the anatomical structure of the heart and great
vessels, their spatial relationships. With two-dimensional angiocardiography it is not always possible to detect all anatomic particularities
of pulmonary arteries and that is why the use of additional projections for the optimal visualization of the region
of interest is often required.
This problem can be solved with more widespread use of three-dimensional rotational angiocardiography during diagnostic
and endovascular procedures in different congenital heart defects. This review covers the international experience in the use
of three-dimensional rotational angiocardiography in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, which is rather
little, but the experience of the national specialists in the available literature is not presented.
