Abstract
The main stages of formation and results of work of the Department of cardiology acquired heart disease are
presented. In 2015 in the Department, more than 500 surgeries were performed, the main share accounted
for endovascular procedures, especially percutaneous coronary intervention. However, the share of operations
with artificial blood circulation increases. Despite a more severe category of patients, hospital mortality
remains at a low level (overall mortality of 0.2%, during operations with ABC 1.7%, while endovascular
interventions deaths were not noted).
The main directions of scientific work of the Department are the study of results of surgical treatment of
valvular heart disease and coronary heart disease in patients of elderly and senile age, and also with concomitant
oncological pathology, assessment of the quality of life of patients after surgery.
