Abstract
The most common cause of repeated surgical interventions after the Ross procedure is the progression of the
neo-aortic root dilatation which leads to aortic regurgitation. We report a case of the combination of the neoaortic
root dissection with infective endocarditis of the neo-aortic, pulmonary and mitral valves in a patient
14 years after the Ross operation. This case illustrates the possibility of involvement of the transplanted structures
in the process of degeneration and development of secondary infective endocarditis.
It should be noted that after such a multicomponent and complex operation as Ross procedure, clinicians
should remember the possibility of involving transplanted structures in the process of degeneration or development
of secondary infective endocarditis.
