Abstract
The article presents an overview of the main achievements in the ultrasound diagnosis of brachiocephalic vascular pathology in the Bakoulev National Medical Research Center: 1) diagnostic reliability of auscultation, ultrasound Dopplerography, duplex scanning, angiography in identifying different types of atherosclerotic plaques; 2) ultrasound classification of bifurcations of the common carotid arteries; 3) method for assessing the length of the atheroma; 4) method for determining the possibility of vascular reconstruction in tandem stenoses of the internal carotid arteries; 5) criteria for the hemodynamic significance of the tortuosity of the internal carotid artery; 6) method for ultrasound diagnosis of Eagle vascular syndrome (shilocarotid, sublingual-carotid, shield-carotid, shiloyarny syndromes) and criteria for its hemodynamic significance; 7) classification of disorders of venous cerebral outflow and examination methods; 8) methods for detecting elongated transverse processes of the seventh cervical vertebrae; 9) features of diagnostic methods for visualizing stagnation zones.
