Abstract
In recent decades, echocardiography has undergone many changes and additions, which is reflected in the improvement of the results of treatment of patients with heart defects. Firstly, this in turn is associated with the diagnosis in time of congenital and acquired heart anomalies, detail anatomy and function. Echocardiography is the primary method for imaging the heart and undoubtedly the quality of the study performed determines the further algorithm for examining the patient and planning the volume of surgical intervention. Echocardiography has its advantages and disadvantages, and in cases of limited their opportunities on the first plane in diagnosis of cardiac anomalies belong to the "giants" of non-invasive radiation diagnostics – computer and magnetic resonance tomography. The improvement of ultrasound technology, as well as the creation of new echocardiographic methods, opened a new era of cardiac imaging. The article presents an overview used of modern ultrasonic technologies with their features in practical application in the Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery.
