Abstract
In 2020, the department had a low overall mortality rate, which was 0.9%. Despite the overall decline in hospital admissions, the number of newborns increased. There was no mortality after cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. The only patient who died without surgery had a realized fetal infection. Scientific work was carried out on a complex topic: “Multi-stage surgical correction for complex congenital heart disease in children.” The main topics were the obstruction of the left or right heart. Promising scientific subjects in the department are: reconstructive surgery for congenital valve pathology; surgical interventions for pathology of the aortic arch; multi-stage correction of a single ventricle. Based on the results of the year, scientific and practical work can be recognized as corresponding to the tasks set for the department at the beginning of the year
