Abstract
The clinical activity of the Institute for Coronary and Vascular Surgery of Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery was aimed primarily at fulfilling the state assignment for high-tech medical care, clinical testing and compulsory health insurance program. The article presents the results of the Institute’s activity in 2021 in comparison with 2019 and 2020. The state assignment is 100% completed. The number of patients admitted to the hospital was 6680 people, more than 3.5 thousand operations were performed. Despite the difficult epidemiological conditions, high-quality work of the intensive care unit has been ensured. The hospital mortality rate was 0.9%, and mortality after operations with cardiopulmonary bypass was 4.4%. The work was continued to improve the efficiency of the bed fund, as a result of which the average duration of hospitalization was reduced to 6.7 days. The number of surgical interventions was the highest in the last 3 years. The amount of endovascular operations significantly increased. The fleet of medical equipment has been significantly updated. A distinct trend to the decline of the load on paraclinical departments was kept due to the increase of insistence to justification of medical investigations.
