Abstract
The article presents the results of scientific and practical work of the Department of surgical treatment of
heart diseases with progressive pulmonary hypertension for the year 2017. Provides insights and practical recommendations
on the diagnosis, surgical, interventional and medical treatment of various nosological forms
of pulmonary hypertension.
In particular, pulmonary endarterectomy and balloon dilatation of the pulmonary arteries, combined with
specific pulmonary vasodilators therapy, have been shown to be effective treatments for chronic thromboembolic
pulmonary hypertension. In this case, the phasing of surgical, endovascular and drug methods for
each patient can be individualized.
Also examined results palliative surgical treatment of pulmonary hypertension – pulmonary artery banding,
atrial septostomy, Potts anastomosis, stenting of left coronary artery, embolization of aorto-pulmonary collateral
artery, palliative atrial switch and palliative prosthetic of heart valves.
