Abstract
The article presents the main achievements in the practical and scientific work of the Department of Surgical Treatment of Tachyarrhythmias for 2021. In 2021, the department experienced an increase in the number of hospitalized patients (by 18.9%) and the number of operations performed (by 5.7%) compared to the previous year. This made it possible to fulfill the treatment plan of the department by 100.1%, with the value of this indicator in 2020 – 105.7%. In the reporting year, 47 operations were performed using cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), which is 23.7% more than in the previous year. The number of interventions performed according to the closed technique also increased (by 19.8%). The number of endovascular procedures is comparable to last year's results. As a result, the number of operations without CPB was 749, which is 4.8% more than in 2020. Also, in other departments of the Center, an additional 120 operations were performed. Taking into account other departments, a total of 916 operations were performed, which is 5.3% more than the previous indicator. The overall mortality was 0.1%. Of the operations performed under CPB conditions, 10 (21%) operations were performed under conditions of purulent-septic complications and were distinguished by technical complexity, which, in combination with the patient's comorbidity, led to 1 (2.1%) lethal outcome among all operations with CPB. The scientific activity of the department was carried out on two complex topics: “Radical treatment of ventricular arrhythmias using modern methods of electroanatomical mapping” (period of execution 2020–2022) and “Topical diagnosis and non-pharmacological treatment of various forms of atrial tachycardia after open-heart surgery” (period of execution 2020–2022). Within these topics, the possibilities of intracardiac mapping using navigation systems in the elimination of substrates for the development and maintenance of various tachyarrhythmias are being studied.
