Abstract
Cardiovascular pathology is a steady leader in prevalence and mortality cause in the Russian Federation. Increase of
the volume of care for this cohort of patients, including endovascular treatment, is a natural tendency. Diagnostic
interventions and operations were performed in 10 760 patients in the department in 2018, that is 1484 (14%) patients
higher, than in the previous year. Diagnostic procedures were performed in 8200 cases, while 2560 patients underwent
operations. If we look at the structure of operative work this year, 1102 procedures were performed in ischemic
heart disease, 1202 procedures in congenital heart surgery and 174 patients underwent endovascular treatment of vascular pathology. There is a tendency for increase, as of overall amount of endovascular procedures, as of clinics
with availability of endovascular care in the Russian Federation. We make every effort to increase the capacity of the
operating room and also strengthening the scientific potential of the Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for
Cardiovascular Surgery. For this purpose, we apply new high-tech methods of invasive diagnostics and treatment. All
together, these factors lead to a well-functioning system approach to the treatment of different types of the cardiovascular
pathology in a circumstances of increasing severity and comorbidity of patients
