Abstract
11 experiments on endovascular formation of aortopulmonary anastomoses on dogs weighing
between 12 and 25 kg were performed.
Armaments for endovascular bypass surgeries were created: magnetic navigation guides, kinematic
needle-axis. A new type of nitinol stent with original delivery system to create reliable
intervascular fistula by endovascular technique was developed. Procedure was elaborated and
potential to perform operation creating intervascular delivery by endovascular method was established.
Instruments prototypes bench-tests (coil-type prosthetic stent, kinematic needle, magnetic
navigation catheters) were carried out.
Surgery performance principle is: X-ray control guidance of special magnetic catheters situated
in the vessels subject to connection; shunting of special kinematic needle from the lumen of one
vessel to the lumen of another vessel to create axis for subsequent guidance and establishment of
prosthetic stent in the form of the shunt.
We managed to prove their potential creation in the experiment setting in 7 cases out of 10 experiments
on endovascular formation of aortopulmonary anastomoses.
We believe it possible to create endovascular aortopulmonary anastomosis which has great future
for introduction into clinical practice.
