Abstract
In recent decades, the principles of diagnosis and treatment of both the acute and chronic coronary artery
disease significantly evolved. Early reperfusion therapy strategy, including thrombolytic therapy and percutaneous
coronary intervention in patients with acute MI fundamentally changed the modern approaches in
treatment. In this article, we discuss the optimal medical therapy, in particular, antithrombotic therapy, the
ratio efficacy / safety, risk assessment, the role of lipid-lowering therapy in the stabilization of vulnerable
plaque and others.
