Abstract
The review discribes the worlds and russian experience in creating an additional source of pulmonary blood
flow in patients with single-ventricular hemodynamics, after previously performed cavopulmonary anastomosis,
if they are not ideal candidates for Fontan's operation. Literature data is based on the analysis of
immediate and mid-term results of arteriovenous fistula operations, that confirming the effectiveness of this
intervention, indications and contraindications to its implementation are determined, the optimal variant of
creation and the features of surgical technique of peripheral arteriovenous anastomosis are proposed. The
analysis that are based on foreign works, we can conclude that the operation of creating a peripheral arteriovenous
anastomosis in patients with bidirectional cavopulmonary anastomosis and the patients with
increased risk of performing a Fontan operation, it maight be a "bridge" to complete bypass of the right heart
or cardiac transplantation.
