Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapy compliance after coronary artery bypass graft surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with ischemic heart diseases.
Material and methods. The study included 60 patients. The age of patients at the time of surgery was 65.7±9.9 (from 39 to 91) years, the period after surgery – 25.3±3.9 (from 15 to 35) months, age at the time of examination 67.8±10.3 years. There were 50 (83.3%) men and 10 (16.7%) women. Coronary artery bypass grafting was performed in 38 patients, percutaneous intervention – 22. Compliance to therapy was assessed by the questionnaire D. Morisky MMAS-8. Additionally used the questionnaire of the reasons for irregular admission/exclusion of therapy.
Results. Compliance to therapy according to the MMAS-8 questionnaire was from 0 to 8 points (median 8 points, 25s and 75s points). High compliance to therapy was noted in 44 (73.3%) patients, average – in 10 (16.7%), low – in 6 (10.0%). The most common reasons for deviations from prescribed medication at discharge were changes in therapy by the attending physician at the place of residence, and the fact that patients forgot to take drugs. 11 (18.3%) patients did not take statins. Lower compliance to drug therapy was found in older patients.
Conclusion. In patients after surgical treatment of coronary artery disease revealed a fairly high degree of compliance to drug therapy.
