Abstract
Bicuspid aortic valve is the most common congenital heart disease (about 1–2% of the world's population have this pathology). Morphologically and functionally, the bicuspid aortic valve is represented by two cusps and two commissures along the line of coaptation. Often on one of the cusps of the valve, there is a line of commissure commingling, the so-called pseudocommissure. In 5% of cases, there is a “true” bicuspid aortic valve with identical equal valves without pseudocommissure. The gold standard for surgical correction of ascending aortic aneurysm in combination with aortic valve insufficiency is the operation of Bentall–de Bono. However, with some types of bicuspid aortic valve, a valve-saving operation is possible. The article presents the case of successful reconstruction of a rare type of bicuspid aortic valve according to the operation of David I.
