Abstract
Over the past 3 years, the Department of Surgical Treatment of Tachyarrhythmias has been demonstrating effective clinical work, as evidenced by the high throughput of the department, the reduction in average bed days and low, world-wide levels of complications and mortality. The scientific and practical activities of the department are characterized by the constant participation of its employees in major Russian and international forums and high publication activity. The purpose: to present the results of the medical and scientific work of the Department of Surgical Treatment of Tachyarrhythmias for 2019. During the reporting period, the department treated 1297 patients, performed 797 interventions for arrhythmias and cardiac conduction, including in patients with acquired heart defects, coronary heart disease, infectious endocarditis, and chronic heart failure, of which 50 were performed under cardiopulmonary bypass, 661 interventions and 86 closed operations. Over the past 3 years, there has been a stabilization of all mortality indicators: there were no fatal outcomes in catheter and closed surgeries, intraoperative and perioperative mortality in cardiopulmonary bypass operations is also zero, hospital mortality was 0.2%. The main topics of the scientific work of the department are related to assessing the results of applying modern mapping methods in the treatment of complex arrhythmias and predicting a response to cardiac resynchronization therapy, as well as increasing the efficiency and safety of surgical treatment of heart rhythm disorders in patients with combined pathology. A study is being conducted related to the evaluation of the function of the tricuspid valve in patients with infectious endocarditis who need to remove the endocardial electrode system for constant pacemaking.
