Abstract
Papillary fibroelastomas are extremely rare primary cardiac tumors. Mainly, the pathological process is localized on the cusps of the aortic and mitral valves, much less often the tricuspid valve is affected. There is practically no information on the diagnosis and treatment of papillary pulmonary valve fibroelastoma. We present a clinical case of a 60-years old female patient. She was admitted to our hospital with an accidental find, a volumetric mass was clearly visualized using three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography, which was subsequently confirmed by intraoperative data and the results of histological examination. Moreover, 3D TEE let us define the size of the tumour and its structure more accurately. Due to a high level of mobility of the tumour and the risk of embolic complications the patient was surged at Bakoulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery. The surgery was operated with full tumour resection and the valve function was sustained.
