Abstract
The steady increase in the implantation of permanent pacemakers in patients who have undergone heart surgery, including for CHD, increases the risks of infectious complications. This is due to multiple operations, both for the underlying defect and for the change of the pacemaker (PM). One of the complications is infection of the bed of the PM and electrodes. The choice of treatment method remains controversial, but most studies indicate the need for complete removal of infected devices along with electrodes. The urgency of the problem is due not only to the growth of PM implantations, but also to the choice of the method of treatment of an infectious complication. We demonstrate the experience of surgical treatment of a child patient who, with Ebstein's anomaly, underwent tricuspid valve prosthetics and PM implantation followed by reimplantation due to infection of the bed. The complete elimination of epicardial electrodes with the rehabilitation of foci of infection led to a positive result.
